What do you want to create on this planet?

Do you believe in the end of the world? If the end of the world ever comes who would be the cause of it? Well I say the answer is you and me and everyone else. You can argue that it wouldn't be your fault. You say, I am doing my part to prevent the end of the world. But how much are you doing and how much to you get others to do the same? But besides that, what would cause the end of the world? I say it's global warming and it is caused by us. We make global warming happen. If all life dies on earth it's because we didn't take care of the planet. You might think, well when that happens I won't be here. But others will, don't you think about them? The next generation will be here, your children and the children of the world. We don't need all this terrible climate change. We can say, it won't happen! And we can also prevent it from happening. We just have to work together and do so. Being green is definitely a start. The state of this planet lies in your hands but it's what you make of it. In the end, whatever the end may be, it's what you created, whether it be good or bad. So what do you want to create?

My other blog

I have another blog which you may have notice called Little Life of Lisa. I closed it off so no one could read...I didn't have the heart to delete. But now I have opened it again. I have decided I will write on it from time to time. If you don't find that very shocking, well I do. I just put a post on there actually. The reason I decided to do so is because I can write whatever the hell I like on that blog but this blog is more limited. The problem is people might actually read it. No, I'm just kidding. What is a blog for if not for people to read? But the question is, do people actually read my blogs? Nevermind that. If no one reads it, at least it is out their in space. Is it a way to relieve stress? Maybe it's good for putting all your worries and tensions out there. You can also use a blog to confess something actually. That is a good thing.

SAVE ENERGY

Tip #6: Turn off the lights when you don't need them or your not in the room. That also includes the fan.

Tip #7: Save more energy with the AC. When your not in the house, keep the temperature at 78F or higher on the AC if you have to leave it on. Don't have the heater so high as well. Put on a sweater instead. In my house in Malaysia, we don't have AC. We use fans and open the windows. You might be able to do that at night instead of having AC. Keeping lights off when rooms are not in use is also good because lights generate heat that makes your air conditioner run more. Here is a link called called Top 7 Make Your Air Conditioner Work More Efficiently: http://saveenergy.about.com/od/homecooling/tp/ac_usage.htm

Well I am afraid I have to use some energy now. My own energy as well as energy for the vacuum. I've got to clean my house.....

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

Watch the story of stuff: http://www.thestoryofstuff.com/It definitely taught me something.

Tip #1: Don't be wasteful. Every time you buy something you are voting for that product. That also includes it's packaging. You are saying, I like this product. When you buy, think about whether you really need it or is it just wasteful. What happens to it when you no longer need it? Also think about the packaging. What can you do with that packaging?

Tip #2: Reduce water. Don't let the water run when brushing your teeth. Don't take too long in the shower. Turn if off when using the soap of shampooing your hair.

Tip #3: Reuse used paper as scrap paper.

Tip #4: Give things to the thrift store you don't want instead of throwing it away. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Tip #5: Recycle paper, plastic, metal and glass. Have less of a load in your garbage which goes to the garbage dumpsite. Think about it, your rubbish doesn't just disappear in thin air, it has to go somewhere. You can add less to the dumpsite by recycling. If you do throw things away, is it biodegradable ("made of substances that will decay relatively quickly as a result of the actions of bacteria and break down into elements such as carbon that are recycled naturally")? Plastic takes millions of years to break down in the soil. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_are_plastic_bags_so_bad_for_the_environment The ultimate thing though is to reuse things or to never by them if they can't be reused. But if you can't reuse, you recycle. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071024071854AAbLamp

The Green Group

Why do I have this blog you ask? Well it all started with this obsession called Facebook. In the beginning I had myspace and thought that was all I needed. Myspace was not much of a space for me actually.....but there are too many of these sites. My friend had facebook and said it was great. I on the other hand, couldn't be bothered with it. Finally, with so many people on facebook, I decided to bite the bullet and sign up. When you first sign up it's such an addiction. You tend to try so many applications. Now, having had it for so long, I only do the essentials.....
My friend had created his own group on facebook. Something just for fun. I thought, there is one of the perks of facebook so I might do the same. And I did, I created some entertainment group. Not much happened with that group because I thought people would have discussions. That didn't happen. So that group just sits there to rot.....I don't have the heart to delete it. Finally I thought of creating a new group. Something which would interest people more.....and so I came up with The Green Group. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=23933654743&v=wall&ref=search It's about being green. A lot of people have that interest so it's actually a group that won't sit there and rot. I send out messages to the members giving them tips on being green. I also post them on the group itself. Now I can post some of them here along with photos.
If you yourself are what I call a greenie than I thank you and so does the Earth and fellow earthlings. If you are not, it's okay but you may take a read at my blog.....Thanks and let's keep life going. :-)

HELLO READERS

Hi all! I have to say I was dispappointed to find out the blog url The Green Group was already taken. So instead I call my blog The Greenie Group. This is my new blog. This is my 4th try of a blog actually. I have to thank fellow blogger Brainjuice for getting me started in blogging in the beginning. The sad thing is, is that I hardly ever blog since I never know what to write. Now I am inspired again. Hopefully this time it will work out. This time the blog is linked with a passion, being green (environmentally friendly). I have to thank my sister for making me see how important it is to be green. It's good to be green! I hope to convince you as well or to help you to be green or a greenie. :-) In this blog I will write whatever the heck I want.....I will write about being green and write about what I am doing.....hmmm.....do you really want to read? Stay tuned and find out.
